Posted: 25 Dec 2011 09:32 AM PST A bunch of youngsters will not be able to forget what they witnessed yesterday (December 23, 2011). The venue was the St George's school grounds where Aishwarya Dhanush's upcoming film '3's audio launch took place. The event was a huge success, not in terms of big names present but for the crowd that had grouped at the spot. Dhanush was present clad in a white Armani and beside him was the woman of his life, wife Aishwarya. The couple looked attractive and entertained the gathered. They sang and danced. The crowd went crazy when Dhanush sang and performed for 'Kolaveri Di...' The man behind the music of '3,' Anirudh, was also present. Dhanush, in his own style, has a way of getting the pulse of the audience and he re-created the magic again. As if Dhanush's ticklers weren't enough Siva Karthikeyan and Aadhavan were the hosts of this event and they were in their best elements! This duo made the crowd roar in laughter with their funny one-liners and comments. They also did their usual dose of mimicry, mimicking Bhagyaraj, Vijayakanth and TR on how it would be if these film personalities were to croon the soup song Kolaveri. There was a laser show and a lot of music and dancing. And when time came for the music CD to be released, Dhanush asked his wife to pick three young men and women randomly from the crowd. These '3' pairs along with Kasthuri Raja, his wife and mom-in-law Latha Rajinikanth unveiled the music CD of the Dhanush, Shruti Haasan starrer '3' in the presence of the crew members of '3'. All this fun that took place during the audio launch of 3 will be telecast on Sun TV soon... The album of '3' comprises of a mlange of foot tapping numbers and some soft melodious songs sung by Vijay Yesudas, Mohit Chauhan, Shwetha Mohan, Anirudh, new singers Satya Prakash and Ajeesh. Yet another highlight is that all songs except one have been penned by Dhanush and the remaining one has been penned by Aishwarya. |
Posted: 25 Dec 2011 09:32 AM PST It was a big day for the Coimbatore crowd yesterday (December 23, 2011). The reason was the audio launch of Shankar's upcoming film 'Nanban.' The audio was launched at the venue of Harris Jayaraj's live concert - On The Edge, and the place was Hindustan College of Arts and Science, Coimbatore. Harris also is the music director of this youthful Shankar entertainer. The entire team of 'Nanban' was in attendance for the audio launch all inclusive of the director, Shankar, the lead stars Vijay, Srikanth and Jiiva as well as the crew members. While Vijay and Jiiva were clad in semi-formals, Srikanth looked smart clad in a blue Superman T-shirt. Shankar was in his signature self. Veteran Sathyaraj who plays an important role in the film was also present for the audio launch. According to reports from Coimbatore, nearly 19000 people were expected for the event and come they did! Along with the audio release the trailer of 'Nanban' was also released. The first disc was released by Prabhu. Vijay's Docomo ad was also screened on the big screen. When Vijay took to the stage he was all in praise for his director Shankar. He also revealed that he had earlier missed a chance to act in the former's film, 'Mudhalvan', but did not want to miss the chance second time around, that's how 'Nanban' happened. Ilayathalapathy also revealed that his co-stars Srikanth and Jiiva had become absolutely close to him. While Srikanth was a friend of Vijay even before 'Nanban', the actor revealed that he had also got really close to Jiiva during the shoot of 'Nanban.' 'Srikanth has also done complete justice to the role Maddy did in '3 Idiots,' said Vijay. While Vijay spoke of Jiiva he said the latter was the prankster of the team, off camera. He used to crack hilarious jokes just before a serious scene was about to be shot and immediately got into the mood of his character. But it was Vijay who used to find it difficult to hold himself from laughing out loud. RJ Shiva was the perfect host who carried the show forward. After Vijay spoke about the film, Shiva along with the crowd urged the actor to sing a song from the album. Following this demand from the crowd the actor sang 'Edho Panale...' and the crowd went crazy. Harris Jayaraj had earlier done the jingle for Vijay's previous Coke ads, now the songs for 'Nanban' too have come out really well said the actor. The crowd went ecstatic seeing the cast and crew of the film all in one place. And in all it was undoubtedly a grand audio launch for 'Nanban!' |

Thala’s thala impressed King Khan Posted: 25 Dec 2011 09:32 AM PST The rapport between Ajith and Shah Rukh Khan has been years old. This is on the record ever since both shattered the Bollywood through Asoka. That movie was the own project from SRK and he liked to have Ajith in the brother character. For this gesture, Thala gave his very best to impress the Bollywood audience. Recently, after watching Mankatha, SRK expressed his amazement over Ajith's guts to show case him in salt and pepper outlook. He even declared that he would not have preferred to do such gusty roles and praised Thala with hearty salutation. Now both are on the same boat for the decades old movie, Don. While the Tamil remake of this movie saw Super star Rajini as Billa, the sequel had Ajith. In Hindi latest version of 2006, SRK forayed in the strong role. After these gap of years, SRK is releasing his sequel Don 2 today. Having tasted some success with his Ra One during the Deepavali release, SRK is back with bang through this Don 2. As the film would have it, SRK has experimented Ajith's style of anti-heroism in Don 2. During an interview recently he revealed that he has done a role with lot of baddie visions. Another event for this Don 2 is the hairstyle which SRK borrowed from Thala. Actually this style was the one which Ajith applied in his film Paramasivam and the subsequent film Thiruppathi. |
Posted: 25 Dec 2011 09:32 AM PST Shahrukh Khan's Don 2 is getting good reviews from the Tamil audience with the release of its dubbed version. The film is filled with loads of stunning actions, exotic locations (around Thailand, Malaysia, Zurich, Berlin) and breathtaking visuals making the viewer to forget that it is a Bollywood film. Don 2 is equal to Hollywood action films with full of suspense and twists. Even the dubbing is well executed. Check out the Tamil Movie Review – Don 2. Story The specialty is how Shahrukh khan portrayed in the character of the Don. The actor interprets him as an arrogant, agile, wicked and wild dare-devil who has the most bizarre schemes up his sleeves. In Hindi, where in part 1 the Don is left to be survived; now he is seen in Thailand. From there he creates some rifts and then later was put up with his old mates in the Malaysian prison. What keeps Don 2 alive, then, is its pulsating action. It helps the pace quicken as the film progresses, including a thrilling chase sequence and a wonderfully choreographed-and-shot pre-climax sequence. Cinematographer Jason West (Rock On) and stunt director Matthias Barsch enthuse life into proceedings, ensuring that action junkies get their fill. The film, however, is nothing more than an attempt to cash in; to set opening weekend records. And to provide a vehicle for its lead star to dazzle (so much so, every other actor seems inconsequential). Thankfully, Shah Rukh Khan is in form. The body language is cocky, the attitude flamboyant, and the smirk consistent. In a full-fledged action role, Khan goes the whole hog, pulling off the stunts with panache. Only for him, Don 2 is pretty enjoyable. Performance: Action is the other alluring selling point of Farhan Akhtar's film. The chases, the fights, the demolition, destruction, break-ins, escapes have all been done with a finesse that rivals the best of Hollywood. Watch the car chase between Priyanka and Shahrukh and you'll get the point. It's not only high voltage that drips with passion which makes it seem almost like foreplay. The other notable sequences include the heist, the escape and Shahrukh's larger-than-life leap from a high-rise while his assassin wrings his hands in dismay. Analysis The film does lack a bit on the emotional quotient and human relationships are hardly given a chance to grow. But just when you think it's all sound and fury, there's a sensuous tango between Roma and the Don as the cop opts to help the gangster she once loved and the gangster is determined to save his junglee billi (wild cat), any which way. A word about the dialogues: brilliant. A word about the music: mediocre (Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy). |

'Deiva Thirumagal' was a big hit and Vikram's role as a man with a brain 5-year old was highly appreciated by one and all. The versatile star, after doing tough and varied roles is back as an action hero that is in line with 'Saamy', 'Dhil' and 'Dhool'! And, 'Rajapattai' is a super-action film that again proves Vikram is one of those few inimitable stars in Indian cinema. 'Rajapattai' tells the story of a Gym instructor & Stunt man, who aspires to become a big villain in films. But, destiny has something else for him. Anal Murugan (Vikram) takes on the 'Dadas' who grab lands from innocent people. Pradeep Rawat is the baddie. Vikram also has a beautiful relationship with K Viswanath. Deeksha Seth, an IT girl plays the love interest of Anal Murugan. Vikram has come out with yet another powerful performance, this time as a super-action hero. The director has taken the support of Seenu Vasan in writing the story and Bhaskar Sakthi for doing the dialogues. The script has enough action, comedy, sentiments and romance, and fulfills a wholesome 'Mass Masala' entertainment! Suseendran has included many novel features in the film including Vikram's 10 different getups that we never have seen in any of the films. Yuvan Shankar Raja is scoring the music. Songs and the visuals are heart-warming. The song 'Laddu Laddu Rendu Laddu…' featuring top heroines Shriya Saran and Reema Sen is one of the highlights of the film. 'Rajapattai' is produced with a whopping budget of Rs. 40 Crores.
